Dear Gropu member,

 I am josyula, working on machinability study of composites on abaqus .

1) i need help in modeling of particulate reinforce composite.

2) i need help in simulation of turning  in abaqus.

Using Abaqus, hanging some mass in Truss element (T3D2), facing numerical singularities and lack of convergence due to Truss elements have no initial stiffness to resist loading perpendicular to their axis. If a stress-free line of trusses is loaded perpendicular to its axis in Abaqus/Standard. Kindly suggest me how to overcome this. 

multilayer material photoelasticity measurement

Hi,

 

i'm in an internship, and i want to study the stress destribtuion with photoelasticity method, but my problem is that the material that i have is not homogenious but there ares two layers. I can do the measurement for the two material separated, but i dont know how to do that for my layared material.

 

 anyone have an idea about how to do photoelasticity measurement for multilayere materials ?

Exponential model W (strain energy density function)- Zero stress zero strain condition

Hi,

I am new here and have a very basic question on the Strain Energy Density (SED) function of exponential model.

 This is the exponential model SED form : W=a(e(b(I1-3))-1)

Now we have certain postulates such as that

1.W=0 when there is no deformation and

2. stress=0 when strain =0.

 When there is no deformation I1=3 and hence W=0, which is correct.

ANSYS APDL query

I want to determine the number of cycles required to propagate a crack upto certain dimentions or vice-versa?

Does ansys APDL has that capability to do fatigue analysis of a growing crack.

my problem is analysis of elliptical corner crack present at shell nozle juntion. 

if yes,please tell what is to be done in ansys  13.0 APDL for this?
