Tension in screw because of moment in section
Hi,

Hi,
Thank you,

Dear All,
I've got to start teaching a masters level programme on nanocomposites, well 7 lectures worth of one anyway. It will serve as an introduction to NCs and briefly review the current stat of the art.
I would like opinions on textbooks to accompany such a module.
Any of you had any good experiences with any particular books ?
Thanks,
Chris
Hello
I am working on a thesis project dealing with flow stress in cold rolling, a plane strain operation. To determine the flow stress, tensile tests were carried out. I am aware, that the engineering strain/stress hast to be transfered to the true strain/stress and then the true strain/stress from the tensile test has to be mulitplied with the Von Mises yield criterion to yield the correspondent compressive flow stress in the rolling situation.
Hello all,
Dear all,
The programme for the course on "Contact mechanics with the CONTACT software", to be held October 28th-29th 2010 in Delft, the Netherlands, is now available via the registration form on our website www.kalkersoftware.org.
Best regards,

Hello,
Im doing my M.Tech project on 'Analysis of grinding using nano cutting fluids with ANSYS" . But ANSYS has to work at nano level.. So how to make programming to make ANSYS to use to solve nano level problems.
Hi,
I am modellling a beam with a hole in ABAQUS and runs pretty well. Now I would like to model a small area of the beam.
For an example the rectangular area which has been shown in the attachment file. When I model it What should I put as a boundry
conditions ?. I know that you may say that reactions of the beam (namely, Moment, shear, axial force) but I would like to just
investigate this part under pure bending and shear. What should I do?
A model without support is unstable ????
