I have a question regarding calculating the B-matrix which is used to create the bimaterial H-matrix in the article: "Singularities, Interfaces and Cracks in Dissimilar Anisotropic Media" by Zhigang Suo, 1989.
I've got interested, since I am going with about 10 of my students to Paris for the Euromech conference I am coorganizing in July, by the design of the Eiffel Tower. Eiffel was a great engineer, and indeed his shape of the tower apparently comes from his ingenious idea of balancing weigth and wind pressure so that there is little need of foundations. WIKIPEDIA has an account of this design idea, and the resulting integro-differential equation.
when I try to run my subrutine in Abaqus I encountered with an error message: ABAQUS ERROR:

Attached is a pdf file indicating a discrepancy in the governing eq for radial displacements in a sphere. I am + Dr. Bower's text is correct but I cannot reconcile my derivation with his so I am assuming there must be some underlying assumption or approximation I am not aware of.
Can anyone provide me with greater insight?

I am new to DEFORM 3D and I am intended to simulate the effect of coolant pressure on the chip formation in metal cutting.
I dont know how to incorporate the mechanical effect of coolant pressure on chip formation in machining.
Are there any standard options in DEFORM 3D, which I can use to simulate the same?.
If not, will writing a user subroutine in DEFORM help me to simulate the same?. If the user subroutine, is the only way to do so, I would like to get some material on writing user subroutine in DEFORM 3D?.

I wanted to know in which contexts we take bilinearform of a Matix. What is the application of the bilinear form associated with a stiffness matrix? I need a simple reference for this. Any explanation please .........
