Crack propagation in ABAQUS

Submitted by mmmadni85 on

Hi

I am trying to find out the propagation in a bone using FEA in ABAQUS , The bone is given material properties of Polyurethane foam since I have the bone models made up of polyurethane foam, I have created a notch/crack on it and want to know how can I find the propagation of crack till the complete bone breaks.

Thank you

Reinforced Concrete in ANSYS

Submitted by Jeffrey W. Kemper on

I am conducting a senior design project in ANSYS.  I am modeling a folded reinforced concrete plate and have never used ansys before.  Does anyone have any tutorials that involve non-linear analysis?  I am trying to get a force vs. deflection curve and I am having troubles.

 Thanks

Hi all

I want to know about Geometric Stiffness Matrix. When we calculate the stiffness of a body when the body is deformed then the stiffness called geometric stiffness. I have refered few books but I could not get the satisfactory details. I want to find the geometric stiffness of a fluid. I dont have any idea about geometric stiffnes. Any reference for this? Any article which explains this?

Applying heat flux for a specific amount of time using ANSYS

Submitted by daltoy3 on

Hi everyone,

how can I apply a 'X' amount of heat flus for a specific amount of time? It'll be helpful to include the steps especially for the part on specifying the amount of injection time (say 3 micro seconds)

Thanks!!

thermal analysis of welds using ANSYS

Submitted by sandyxlr123 on

HI EVERYBODY,

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO DO THE THERMAL ANALYSIS OF WELDS COUPLED WITH THE MECHANICAL ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE THE RESIDUAL STRESSES RESULTING IN IT.I HAVE COUPLE OF DOUBTS IN THIS CONCERN-

1.THERE IS THE USE OF FILLER MATERIAL-I KNOW ELEMENT DEATH AND BIRTH METHOD IS TO BE USED BEHIND IT,BUT DONT KNOW HOW TO APPLY IT

2.SECONDLY THE MOVING HEAT SOURCE-WHETHER ANY GAUSSIAN DISTRIBUTION IS TO APPLIED AND HOW TO GET A MOVING HEAT SOURCE.

3.WHETHER  ALL CONVECTIVE AND RADIATIVE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS HAVE TO BE APPLIED ON OTHER SURFACES SIMULTANEOUSLY.
