Two Fully Funded Ph.D. Position in Multiscale Modeling of Additive Manufacturing and 2D Materials

Two fully supported Ph.D. positions are available starting Fall 2022 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama on multiscale modeling of materials and processes. The objective of one project is to model the synthesis of 2D materials to design new processes to improve synthesis efficiency, as well as synthesis by the design of these materials, and to use machine learning algorithms to design materials and their synthesis process.

One fully funded PhD position in the Solids Mechanics Lab (LMS) at Ecole Polytechnique, France

A Ph.D. position is available in the Solids Mechanics Laboratory (LMS) at Ecole Polytechnique in the Paris area in France.

The project is to investigate three-dimensional instabilities in magneto-active thin films heterogeneously patterned by design.

The proposed thesis includes both experimental (3D printing of magneto-sensitive polymers) and numerical (finite element) aspects.

One fully funded PhD position in computational polymer science at the University of Vermont

Applications are invited for a doctoral research position immediately available (also open to Summer 2022, Fall 2022, or Spring 2023) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science Graduate Program at the University of Vermont. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof.

Opening for a new Ph.D. student in the Computational Mechanics group, The University of Iowa.

The Computational Mechanics group at The University of Iowa, led by Professor S. Rahman, is looking for a new Ph.D. student, who is capable of and interested in performing high-quality research on uncertainty quantification for dynamical or time-varying systems. The research, supported by the Department of Energy, requires building a solid mathematical foundation, devising efficient numerical algorithms, and developing practical computational tools, all associated with the stochastic analysis of complex materials and structures.

A PhD position at University and Unity of mechanic (EA 7512) of Lille

Here I help Professor Pruchnicki post a phd thesis proposal. It will begin on September 2022 for three years (shared between Politechnico of Turino and University of Lille). The net salary will be approximately 1500 euros per month. He wants a very good student so he wants to be sure of the candidate's level. Professor Pruchnicki will give an international work on plate and will ask him/her for seeing his/her understanding. Please refer to the attachment for the details.

Two PhD positions (in design and manufacturing of sensors and actuators) at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK

Two funded PhD positions available at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom (www.hw.ac.uk). Details below and can be found on www.findaphd.com. Both positions are funded for 3 or 3.5 years, jointly supervised by the Tissue Mechanics Group (https://tissuemech.hw.ac.uk/) and Applied Optics and Photonics Group (https://www.aop.hw.ac.uk/) with clinical and industrial advisors.
