cyclic loading

Postdoctoral position in mechanical and material engineering

Submitted by gayoub on

My name is Georges Ayoub; I am looking for a postdoctoral research position in mechanical and material engineering in the field of the polymer science, polymer behaviour and fatigue.

I am presently preparing my last year of PHD at Lille1 university (north France) and ill defence my thesis in September 2010. I am very motivated to start a Postdoctoral position, at the end of my thesis, in a Anglo-Saxon country.

Elasto-Plastic Analysis of metal component with Cyclic Loading

Submitted by SriramG on

Hi,

I am pursuing my master's in Mech. Engg. and working on Abaqus for FEA of components. In one of the analysis,

I am required to apply cyclic loading on the component to determine the Stresses at the edges. Its a compression

cyclic loading with kinematic hardening taken into account. From the documentation for ABAQUS 6.9.1, I found that

in order to apply kinematic hardening in metals, one must take it as Combined (Isotropic + Kinematic) Hardening.

The two concerns I have about this analysis are:

Cyclic volume changes in rubber

Submitted by LECAM on

This is a study dealing with the volume variation in filled crystallizable natural (F-NR) and uncrystallizable styrene butadiene (F-SBR) rubbers subjected to cyclic loadings. During their deformation, such materials exhibit volume variation induced by the cavitation phenomenon and the decohesion between particles and the rubber matrix.

MODELLING OF RCC COLUMN AND APPLICATION OF CYCLIC LOADING

Submitted by MUHAMMAD YAQUB on

Hi

All I am trying to model reinforced concrete column.I am using concrete damaged placity model.I used truss element for main reinforcement and ties .All main reinforcement and ties are embeded in concrete column.I need the following answer.

1-How ties confine the concrete column.

2-How can I apply the cyclic loading.

Please could you provide me any help in this regard.

reinforced concrete walls under cyclic (quasi-static) loading in ABAQUS

Submitted by Gabriel Sas on

Hi,

I started modelling the
behaviour of the reinforced concrete walls under cyclic loading using
ABAQUS/Explicit
.  I used a shell element part with solid homogeneous
section and defined the concrete behaviour using concrete damaged plasticity
material definition. Embedded truss elements were used to define the steel
rebars. In 2 different steps (left and right) I defined the cyclic loading (in
plane) as imposed displacement (using amplitude-smooth step).

My question are:
