A Very silly abaqus question... applying a wind load

Submitted by Lekshmi Dinachandran on

Dear All,

Sorry to ask such a silly question but I am quite new to Abaqus... I am trying to model a tower exposed to wind. I know how the wind pressure varies according to height, but what I dont know is how to model it in abaqus... Also, if i apply a pressure load, then the load will act normally at all points on the surface, right? But in actuality wind doesnt act that way... Could anyone help me out on this one?

Thanks and Regards,

Problem Modeling JKR contact using Abaqus

Submitted by diorusso on

Hello Everyone,

I have been working on solving contact problems relating to fibrillar adhesives over the past 3 yrs of my PhD work. In the past, I used Comsol FEM to model contact interactions by implementing the Dugdale-Barenblatt traction separation law at the contact interface.

Abaqus - Please help!

Submitted by surot on

Hello,

I am a bit confused about a simulation of brittle cracking presented in "ABAQUS EXAMPLE MANUAL" 1.1.5 Collapse of a concrete slab. I was trying to re-simulate the example on my PC and I got really weird results force (RF3) vs. time read in the support point.

Please have a look at attached picture. I download the file mnneice_5.inp from Example 1.1.5 calculated and got totally different resuls. Does it have something to do with setting of my Abaqus software?

Can somebody do the same and check this out?

Thank you very much for any help!
