PhD/post-doc on development of complex geometry reduced order models for multi-scale permeability simulation

Submitted by yentlswolfs on

This research focuses on the development of model order reduction methods to speed up the (repeated) multiscale prediction of permeability in composite manufacturing processes. The permeability of a composite material has a very large impact on the production process of components. It is therefore required to have an accurate knowledge and understanding of the permeability, which depends on the micro- and meso-scale geometry, in order to have a robust manufacturing process.

Position in Thermoplastic Composite Materials Processing at the University of South Carolina

Submitted by sockalsi on

Applications are invited for a graduate studentship position in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, focused on the thermoplastic composite material induction welding process. New postdoc opening in topology optimization in thermomechanical problems in Cardiff University, UK, with Rolls Royce

Submitted by alicia on

Applications are sought for a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Cardiff University, UK to join the exciting and active M2DO research lab. The primary research focus is to develop topology optimization for thermal-elastic interaction. This will be achieved by building on the level set topology optimization method that the M2DO lab has developed for mechanical and coupled problems. The application of interest is in the high temperature environment in aero-engines. The position is for two years.
