Our group in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is working on a range of problems, involving mechanics and physics of 2D materials, soft materials and biological systems. We employ methods of continuum mechanics, mathematics, statistical physics and atomistic simulations to explore the mechanics of 2D materials, electromechanical coupling in soft materials, as well as physical mechanisms underlying the interface of nanomaterials and biology.
Our ice mechanics group at Aalto University (Finland) is looking for a PhD-student to work on offshore wind in cold sea areas. We will use discrete element method to study how drifting sea ice affects an offshore wind farm and how the wind farm affects the sea ice surrounding it.

We are seeking strongly motivated candidates to fill one Research Fellow position in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The successful candidate will work on experimental studies in the area of cell mechanics. We are particularly interested in candidates with research experience in tissue engineering, drug delivery, mechanobiology and applied mechanics.
Required Qualifications:
3 PhD Research Assistant positions in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno starting Spring 2023 or Fall 2023. The first position is on computational modeling of deformation in nanocrystalline metals, the second on modeling stress corrosion cracking in nuclear materials, the third position is on mdeling deformation in metal/metallic glass composites.
