The Mechanics of Infrastructure Materials research group is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work on multi-physics continuum modelling of solid-state batteries. 2 funded PhD positions are available in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Temple University. One research focus is on the design of architected composite structures for 3D printing. More broadly, the student will be exposed to computational materials and mechanics of energy, nano/bio, and engineering materials. The Artificial Organ Lab at the Departments of Surgery at the University of Maryland is a national leader in the development of circulatory and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) support devices. The group is led by a team of engineers and clinicians well-versed in the engineering, clinical, and scientific aspects of medical devices.
