Description of the Programme
Context
As part of a collaborative project between different industrial partners, research center and Universities, the main objective of the post-doctoral position will be to develop methodologies in the context of stochastic simulations.
Papers of interest for this position are available on
We welcome applications to complete a doctoral training in Advanced Engineering with Living Materials (ALIVE) as part of the MaP Doctoral School (www.doctoral-school.ethz.ch) hosted by the ETH Zurich Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP). We offer up to 20 full-time doctoral researcher positions to start early 2022.
Postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Physics Departments at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The postdoctoral researchers will work with Professors Serife Tol, Ellen Arruda, Xiaoming Mao, and Anthony Waas on a new project sponsored by DARPA. These postdoctoral researchers will be collectively mentored by the aforementioned faculty members on the team.

Over the last years, UGent-MMS has developed the stand-alone BladeMesher software for generating finite element models of large wind turbine blades. The software reads in the material data and airfoil data of the wind turbine blade, and automatically constructs the geometry and finite element mesh for the blade. In a next step, the nodal and element information of the finite element mesh is written out to an input file for a commercial finite element solver (Abaqus in this case).
