"Composite materials for structural performance: Towards higher limits", Risø International Symposium, 5-9 September 2011

Submitted by Bent F. Sørensen on

I would like to invite you to submit papers for the 32nd Risø International Symposium on Materials Science: "Composite materials for structural performance: towards higher limits". The idea of the symposium is to explore what are the real limits of structural performance of composite structures, covering both limitations by (a) the properties of the materials and (b) limits from the design methods and criteria used in the structural design process.

Reminder: IMECE 2011: Minisymposium on Multiphysics Simulations and Experiments for Solids

Submitted by Harold S. Park on

Dear Colleagues:

We would like to invite you to submit an abstract for the 2011 ASME

IMECE in Denver, to be held November 11-17, 2011.  Our minisymposium

is on "Multiphysics Simulations for Solids", and is the

continuation of a very successful minisymposium held for the past 4 years

that have resulted in more than 50 presentations at the 2009 and 2010 IMECE conferences.  This year's focus areas

are:

1.Multiphysics modeling, simulation and experiments of electromechanical materials and systems

2011 Gordon Research Conference/Seminar on Adhesion Science

Submitted by Rong Long on

I would like to bring your attention to the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Adhesion Science, which will be held from July 24 – 29, 2011, at Bates College, Lewiston, Maine, U.S.A.  This conference is chaired by Chung-Yuen Hui at Cornell University and Kenneth Shull at Northwestern University.

Extended Deadline: XFEM2011 ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Partition of Unity Enrichment and Applications Cardiff, Wales, UK

Submitted by Stephane Bordas on

Dear colleagues,

The deadline for the registration and submission of one page abstracts has been extended to the 21st February 2011.

XFEM 2011 is one of the successful series of

ECCOMAS thematic events.

XFEM 2011 is a medium-size conference

with a balanced participation covering both the theoretical aspects of the subject and engineering applications.
