Molecular Dynamics from Solid Mechanics Point of View

I am searching for a tutorial or a book which looks into molecular
dynamics method from a Solid Mechanics point of view. All I can find are
the books written for biophysicists or chemistry. I can find lot of
examples on fluids, biomolecules or polymers but none of them are on
simple solids or metals.

Can anyone suggests me a book or a tutorial which can get me ready to
write a program to simulate a simple tensile test of a metal wire (FCC
Al or some simple crystal).

I don't know what is the problem. I did locate the input (.inp) and user (.f) in the same folder and run it (abaqus job=.... user= ...ff int )

Dugdale -Barenblatt cohesive zone model outside the contact zone

Submitted by rdalmeya on

Dear sir

I am Ravi dalmeya doing Phd from Indian Institute of Technology,Kanpur (India). I am doing work on adhesive elastic wavy  thin film. I have completed 2-D Hertzian contact between cylinder and elastic half space using Abaqus. Now i want to apply Dugdale-Barenblatt cohesive zone model outside the contact zone and i do not know  how to apply  Dugdale-Barenblatt cohesive zone model outside the contact zone. Can you give me some suggestion?

Thanking you

is there any proper model for the fatigue crack tip stress-strain field?

Submitted by Chen Long on

dear my friends:

I am a new one in the fatigue crack study. as we all konw, there is a crack resistant near the crack tip before its cracking. HRR model has been well testfied in monotanic crack, so i wonder whether it can be expanded to the cyclic crack situation or not! if yes, so how to describe the stress-strain distribution just nearby the tip? can we define a similar resistant value in the cyclic status?and is the stress redistribution concept right for the stress harden material?

any suggestions would be appreciated!

regards, Long
