Measurement of Cutting Tool Edge With 3D Metrology

Submitted by NANOVEA on

For a particular tool, the edges precision is expected to meet intended results during use in machining. Because the depth of cut is controlled to the nanometer level, the tool cutting edge profile is an important factor to influence the final quality of a machined surface. By analysis of a 3D-Profilometer the edge correctness can be determined to insure quality control before production and or during the life of the tool.

cohesive zone modeling of interface fracture : comparisons

Submitted by Laurent Champaney on

Hello,

(for completing R. Huang's post : node/7396).

A  few years ago, some colleages (from Italy, UK and Brazil) and I proposed some comparisons of the behavior of cohesize zone models. This was presented during ECCM 2004. The paper is attached.

I am working on FEM and i need integration points with their weight coefficients for triangle. I have found tables consisting of 25 points but i need even more. Where can i find a Matlab routine for this.

If it is any help the tables and methods i use are from D.A.Dunavant, High degree efficient symmetrical Gaussian quadrature rules for the triangle.

Any help?

First post - about rheology

The first post on iMechanica, which is an interesting site. First, it is scientists/engineers-targeted which is hard to get so crowded. And second it is exceptionally free. Everyone is free to post everything including ads, and there is no maintenance of "academic standard" or "quality" over here. However all the post I can see are of the topic of mechanics. I believe I will find it more interesting and helpful in the future.

UMAT subroutine- error:fix time increment too large

I have written a umat subroutine for the example that is with usdfld subroutine analyzing damage in a composite lamina.

After checking and compiling the subroutine, this ERROR is shown: fix time increment is too large.

I changed the step madule data but the error still is here. What should I do to solve this problem?

Please help me with this problem

Thank you
