Hi
I am working on probailistic modeling of damages in composite materials. I have my own developed mathematical model for calculating damage probability. Now I am trying to use this model in ABAQUS to see the effect of damages with a certain probability. Please kindly let me know if there is any reference code or tutorial for UMAT where I can apply the damages with different probabilities.
Thanks in Advance

I want to numerical calculate vibration of a closed shell of revolution with double layers. There exists Coefficient cot(θ) in the governing equation, where θ is angle between the revolving axle and normal line. Therefore, cot(θ) will incline to infinity when θ is close to zero for the vertex point on the revolving axle. How to deal with the singularity? Can you give me some advices or reference article? Thanks.
Buckling of stiff thin films on compliant substrates has many important applications ranging from stretchable electronics to precision metrology and sensors. John Hutchinson, Zhiggang Suo, Rui Huang, Xi Chen et al. have developed nice theories for stiff thin film buckling on soft substrate.
Dear Friends,
What is the difference between Continuum Damage Mechanics approach and Fracture Mechanics approach?

I am working for the FE model of cracked pipes. I use Hypermesh to mesh the model, but the element can not be set to the C3D20R type. I donnot kwon why it is. So I can use the C3D15. Then I can th following error message:
***NOTE: THE COORDINATES OF NODES WITHIN THE SAME CLUSTER ARE NOT IDENTICAL. THIS IS THE CASE FOR NODES 22 1224
***ERROR: TRIANGLES, TETRAHEDRA, AND WEDGES MAY NOT BE USED IN A CONTOUR INTEGRAL REGION. ELEMENT 960 IS WITHIN A CONTOUR REGION
My name is Sylvain Gabriele and I am a tenured Assistant Professor at the University of Mons in Belgium. I have a background in polymer physics and I work now on cell mechanics. My group belongs to the Interfaces & Complex Fluids Lab at the University of Mons directed by Pascal Damman. We ssek to understand how physical effects applied to living cells affect their structure and function.

I am working on the problem of interacting cracks in piezoelectric materials. Due to the interaction of cracks, I found a non-intuitive phenomenon that the electric displacement intensity factor of the crack for some interacting profiles may be negative under some loading conditions (a tensile stress and an applied electric displacement). However, under the same loading conditions, the electric displacement intensity factor can never be negative for a single crack problem.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO A RC CIRCUIT COUPLED FINITE ELEMEN ANALYSIS USING ANSYS
I want to couple RC circuit with one end to conducttor and other end to work peice .and study the electric feild intensity in conductor nd work peice..
THANks in advance
