2023 IMECE student travel award competition (deadline extended)

Nomination deadline extended to October 18, 2023. For this year, the travel awards are not limited to students at institutions in the USA. 

The Applied Mechanics Executive Committee (AMD-EC) is pleased to announce the 2023 IMECE student travel award competition, which is sponsored by the Haythornthwaite Foundation*.

Applied Mechanics Division – Haythornthwaite Foundation Research Initiation Grants 2023

With funding from the Haythornthwaite Foundation, the Executive Committee (EC) of the Applied Mechanics Division (AMD) of ASME is pleased to announce the establishment of the Haythornthwaite Research Initiation Grant Program, targeting university faculty engaged in research in theoretical and applied mechanics that are at the beginning of their academic careers. Applicants must hold a tenure‐track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at a US university on October 1, 2023, and must not be more than 5 years beyond receipt of their doctoral degree at the time

Free registration links for AMD Awards Event and the Koiter lecture

The AMD-ASME Executive Committee is delighted to provide free registration links for the AMD awards event and the Koiter medalist lecture, which will take place on November 3rd, 2021, between 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm Eastern Time. The AMD awards event includes the Timoshenko medalist lecture by Prof. Huajian Gao; while the Koiter medalist lecture will be given by Prof. Gerhard Holzapfel.
