Stephen Juhasz died on 19 June 2013 at the age of 99. The following brief description of Juhasz's career was provided by Norm Abramson.
Juhasz received his Dip. Ing. From Budapest Technical University in 1936; Teknologie Licensiate (doctorate) from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden in 1951; and an Honorary Doctorate of engineering from Budapest Technical University in 1989.
Polymer Packaging Modeling Engineer at Procter & Gamble
Description
The selected individual will lead the development, initial application and deployment of new modeling capability in the area of thermoplastic packages. The initial focus is on developing best in class material models across a range of polymers. This material modeling capability will be leveraged globally for a broad range of packaging model applications (blow molding, parison / preform optimization, empty and full bottle interaction with packing lines, etc.)
A new model to predict grain nucleation during dynamic recrystallization

Deformation in metals and alloys is accompanied by high hardening rates and high dislocation
content. Static annealing of deformed metals or forming operations at elevated temperatures can
lead to static and dynamic recrystallization (SRX and DRX). The resultant texture and hence the
properties of such a material are determined by the nucleation and growth of recrystallized grains
Faculty Position (in Mechanics) at Graz University of Technology, Austria
There is an open faculty position at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Graz University of Technology, Austria in the field of strength of materials.
More information about the position and the application instruction may be found here:
http://mibla.tugraz.at/12_13/Stk_18/18.html#255
As the position will involve undergraduate teaching in German, candidates need to be fluent in German (hence, the description is in German only).
Nonconservative Stability Problems of Modern Physics
This monograph gives a complete overview on the subject of nonconservative stability from the modern point of view. Relevant mathematical concepts are presented, as well as rigorous stability results and numerous classical and contemporary examples from mechanics and physics.
