Immediate PhD Position—Composites

Brief. One full-time PhD position on "Composite sandwich panels with auxetic cores" is available (AuxeticsLab). The theme can be shaped around numerical modelling and/or machine learning.

Minimum Requirements. High GPA is mandatory and a track record of high quality relevant publications is preferred. For immediate application, a valid English test score is mandatory.

Critical note. Studnets from sanctioned countries cannot apply.

PhD Opportunity—Continuum mechanics & Numerical methods

Brief. Full-time PhD positions on the general theme of "Auxetics" and "Composites" are available (AuxeticsLab). Themes are shaped around fibre-reinforced composites, auxetics, and other structured materials.

Minimum Requirements. High GPA (>85%) and a track record of high quality relevant publications (minimum one first-author journal paper). For immediate application, a valid English test score is mandatory.

PhD Opportunity—Hygro-thermo-mechanical Analysis of Layered Composites

Overview. Two full-time PhD positions on "Hygro-thermo-mechanical Analysis of Layered Composites" are available. The successful candidate will be working within a team to develop analytical/numerical solutions for the hygrothermal response of composites or similar layered products. The main idea is to work on orthotropic layers stacked arbitrarily.

Minimum Requirements. High GPA (>85%) and a track record of high quality relevant publications (minimum one first-author journal paper).

Two PhD Positions on Composites (Onshore/Australian domestic students only)

Two PhD Positions on Composite Materials (Onshore/Australian domestic students only).

We are currently looking to recruit two PhD candidates to work on the development of manufacturing processes and technologies for lightweight fibre-reinforced composite materials with complex geometry. Project activities include design, manufacture and testing (including non-destructive testing, NDT) of carbon fibre-reinforced composites. NDT approaches may also expand into sensor technologies for structural health monitoring of advanced composite structures.
