Corrosion modelling in COMSOL 4.2

Submitted by sajalpaul.ce104 on

Hello everybody,

I am trying to model corrosion process of steel-reinforcement embedded in concrete with COMSOL 4.2 version.

So, please anybody has any suggestion how to do it..

Well, if there are any other software which can model corrosion in a more simple way, please suggest that also.

Thanks.

Post Macondo underwater technology

Michael, I agree with you.

Technologies are as good as the people who use
them. Regulators and organisational stakeholders have always been good at
reactive measures rather than proactive. Once systems start working, stake
holders take their feet off the pedal and are only re-awakened by the failure
events/accidents.  In most of the world’s
accidents, human error (due to lack of knowledge/inexperience, shear
negligence, complacency, ego, etc) has been the primary cause.

Discuss Safety in wind energy

Submitted by Omololu Oyebola on

In the nearest
future, wind power is likely to be a major contributor towards renewable energy
targets (Scottish Planning Policy). However turbine fire, blade snapping due to
lightening, ice pile-up on blades, noise issues, ecology impact, aviation,
shadows flickering are major showstoppers and setbacks to this renewable energy
option. Making wind safety entails a lot and they include the following

Electric analysis in abaqus

Submitted by anilshirahatti on

Hi,

I want to do an electro-mechanical analysis in abaqus. The specimen is a steel block of 50 x 50 x 20 mm with a groove/slot of 4 x 25 x 20 mm as shown in attached image.

I want to pass 20 amps current at location shown in red and then check the voltage drop at location shown in blue colour. Please can guide me the how to do this analysis in abaqus.

Thanks

COMSOL with stiffness or constitutive matrix extraction

Submitted by gx1492 on

Hello, all:

Can anyone please help me how to deal with the following problem in COMSOL? Thanks a lot.

How to extract the global stiffness matrix [K] or material constitutive matrix [D_ep] for each load increment after convergence using MATLAB?

   Thanks again.
