rotation spring setting

Submitted by hrbeu221 on

Dear all, these days I use combin14 to simulate the boundary conditions. I use two types of springs to simulate support. One is linear displacement spring, the other one is rotational spring. When the spring is on the radial edges, the rotation is about radius direction. When the spring is on the circumferential direction, the rotation is about circumferential direction. So i translate all the nodes to local cylndrial coordinate system. When the spring constants are large enough, the simulation results do not meet well with the clamped boundary conditions.

Fracture mechanics in ABAQUS

Submitted by Dipak Rakshit on

I am new in this forum.I am trying to model Fibre reinfored Polymer

fracture in ABAQUS . But, In website I could not find any example for

that.I have done fracture model for isotropic material such as

Alluminium using Contour Integral. But, for this FRP I am being unable to

model   it.What should be my consideration (different from isotropic)

using this contour integral.I want a tensile matrix cracking or

matrix-fibre interface cracking or fibre cracking. Please help me in

this regard.

Composite Layup ABAQUS

Submitted by s_gupta on

Hi,

I'm trying to do simulation of a standard shear test of a composite specimen. Hence I'm using the composite layup  to create the section of my specimen. But I'm getting the following error no matter what i do. I have even tried the following tutorial but still I'm getting the same error. The link to the tutorial - https://sites.google.com/site/abaqus2010/tutorial_1/tutorial_1-3c.

I'm stuck here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

selected papers on fracture in layered materials

Submitted by kilading on

Dear All,

Currently I am working on the fracture property in layered material and I am focusing on the situation when crack is perpendicular to

interface. I have read the paper by Dr. Hutchinson and Dr. Suo. If you know any paper that is focusing on the crack perpendicular to the

interface, please tell me.

Thanks and Regards,
