Is Latent Heat for phase tranformation is mandatory for all kind of gases/liquid?

Submitted by sanjayiway on

Like water, which keep change in phase from vapour, liquid, solid by adding required latent heat at constant temperature. Is this mandatory for all gaes like oxygen, nitrogen, any metal.

Fatigue Analysis in Ansys Workbench Environment

Submitted by ali_mechanic_64 on

Hello everybody

I’m trying to do a fatigue analysis with Workbench Ansys. The load exerted on model in 2.7 seconds and varies between two values (it increases, reaches to a peak and then decreases to first value) and these 2.7 s cycles continue to failure. I was wondering if it’s possible to model this load history in Workbench environment. Also if possible, please tell me how to do that.( load graph attached)

Thanks in Advance

A1SiN Oxidation Resistance Measurement With 3D Profilometry

Submitted by NANOVEA on

Oxidation resistance is critical for metal components in high temperature environments. Exposure to high temperatures can result in the depletion of the metal with rapid oxidation and material loss. Without protective coatings, surface oxidation adversely affects the performance and durability of the metal component. For example, engine parts, turbine blades, tooling and many others. It will be critical to measure with profilometer the protective coating chosen for a given application.
