Force is droped during indentation simulation at the step of indenter withdrawal

Submitted by ABAqirl on

Dear All,

I have the following problem. I simulate an indentation in two steps. At first step the indenter penetrate to the material. At the second step it withdraws from it. The problem, at the second step force simply drops, although the behaviour of material is elasto-plastic.. What could be the reason? Incorrect boundary conditions, very soft behaviour of material??? Specialists, please help.

Best regards

Mechanics and chemical thermodynamics of phase transition in temperature-sensitive hydrogels

Submitted by Cai Shengqiang on

This paper uses the thermodynamic data of aqueous solutions of uncrosslinked poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) to study the phase transition of PNIPAM hydrogels.  At a low temperature, uncrosslinked PNIPAM  can be dissolved in water and form a homogenous liquid  solution.  When the temperature is increased, the solution separates into two liquid phases with different concentrations of the polymer.   Covalently crosslinked PNIPAM, however, does not dissolve in water, but can imbibe water and form a hydrogel.  When the temperature is changed

Simulation of a cylinder into a cubic and interaction betwwen them by ABAQUS

Submitted by R. Hasanpour on

Hi

I want to simulate a cylinder into a cubic and interaction between them when cubic is subjected to vertical pressure.

I simulated it with ABAQUS, and I run it successfuly. But there was no interaction between cubic and cylinder, and deformations in cubic because of vertical pressure did not affect on cylinder. Do anyone have any solution for this problem?

With regards
