Static and transient analysis to run consecutively

Submitted by creativekishore on

Hi,

I'm using ansys to model a 3D concrete beam model with reinforcement to conduct nonlinear static analysis.

I want to introduce transient analysis in between two load steps to measure the frequency response after each damage level.

Could anyone throw some light on how to use the two analysis consecutively.

Thanks in advance.

Material studio vs LAMMPS for nanocomposites

Submitted by Azadeh Sheidaei on

Hi There,

I am going to do MD simulation on polymer nanocomposites in order to measure the mechanical properties and density of the interphase between fiber and matrix. my filler is platetlet. I read some paper in which similiar work has been done some of them with LAMMPS and some using Material studio

I am wondering what is the pros and cons of each.

Thanks

Azadeh

Fatigue

Submitted by Panos Efthymiadis on

Dear all,

I would like to ask you, how is it possible to simulate fatigue in Abaqus. I have created my loading. But if I run it as it is it will never reach a critical value, so you could say there is no damage evolution. Is it the only way is to apply some type of hysteresis loop evolution and say that after some cycles the hysteresis loop changes?

Any advice is more than welcome!

Unit cell modeling using Abaqus submodeling

Submitted by Gouse on

Hi,

I was going though papers related to micromechanical modeling of composites using unit cell approach. Usually in this procedure, a unit cell is isolated from the material and to ensure the compatabilty of the unit cell boundary, periodic boundary conditions are applied.

To ensure the compatabilty of the boundary and to apply loads, can we use submodeling techniques available in ABAQUS.

Thank you
