concrete stress strain curve

Submitted by omaromar on

i make FEA for my master research in ANSYS PRO., i simulate a prestressed concrete beam with two precast units connected by contact element (CONTA.52). i used solid 65 for concrete modelling and link 8 for for prestressing steel with initial strain, i entered the stress strain curve for the concrete with linear isotropic, concrete and multilinear isotropic in five points as below:

strain=0.0004    stress = 12 Mpa

Strain = 0.001   stress = 30 Mpa

Strain = 0.0015   stress=37.5 Mpa

Dynamic Modeling for Viscoelastic material using ANSYS

Submitted by parimal_maity on

Hello,

I am planing to model a viscolestic material in ANSYS and condition is dynamic.

Could anyone please suggest what are the essential things (i mean datas) required for modeling a viscoelastic material?

For example, If I do the DMA test of viscoelastic materials i can have the modulus data at different frequencies. How to use those data in ANSYS to find out the stress-strain curve?

Thnaks for your kind help

Chair and Lectureship in BioEngineering at Durham University, UK

Submitted by Charles Augarde on

Colleagues

Can I draw your attention to a Chair position and Lectureship in Bioengineering at the School of Engineering, Durham University. While the curent Chair position is occupied by an experimentalist, the postitions are open to candidates with interests in computational modelling and I would encourage anyone in that area to take a look.

Further details are available at the Durham jobs website https://jobs.dur.ac.uk/default.asp. Closing dates are 10/07/09 for the Chair and 31/07/09 for the Lectureship.
