I am so tired ,because this is my first time to post comment and I have not finished it several times .
Thank Prof Suo ,who invited my join it ,the iMechanica was best scientific community that I have seen .
This is a great news for all students here in iMechanica! The formation of a study group which will focus on the basic concepts and the facts of daily research, the simple tools that any of us will need at a certain stage. Please see blow the formation of this idea and add your comment, it would be good to know other points of view as we can improve the initial idea step by step.
The research funding environment we are all experiencing is extremely frustrating, and has the potential for long-term damage to academics and the nation. You may be interested in reading the letter to the Wall Street Journal by two Nobel Prize winners, David Baltimore and Ahmed Zewail.
Hi everybody. My name is Ada. I am a new user on this forum.
I am working with microcantilevers (MCs). Recently I experienced lack of sensitivity. I use MCs coated with nanostructured gold and I use SAM to attach different biological molecules e.g. Protein A, IgG, antiIgG. Everything was working fine until recently.
Would enybody have any sugestions what might be wrong?
Thanks,
Ada

Zhigang, about defining "esthablished", I am worried people may consider arbitrary your "definition" -- not me, you can do as you like!
But look that even somebody as weak as me could be in the list you propose!!, and for different criteria! Only Nix and Hutchinson really stand high in the lists as "esthablished". Incidentally, congratulations: the most cited paper of Hutchinson is that with you.
Dear Esteemed Researcher,
On Friday, April 25th, 2008, the 20th Annual Melosh Competition for the Best Student Paper in Finite Element Analysis was held at Duke University. The competition resulted in a tie between Ludovic Chamoin (of the University of Texas, Austin) and Irina Kalashnikova (of Stanford University). Here is a picture of the 2008 Melosh Medalists with the judges, Leo Franca and Nicolas Moes:
