We are pleased to announce a 4-day CECAM/Psi-k Workshop on
"Chemical and structural transformations in materials under mechanical load",
that will take place at the EPFL campus in Lausanne from Tuesday 1st September to Friday 4th September 2015.
The focus of the workshop will be on materials’ structural and chemical transformations that are caused by external loads and in turn determine the materials macroscopic mechanical response. Particular attention will be devoted to the following thematic areas:
This is just a reminder that the deadline for submitting your abstract to the ICMOBT Conference is now only a month away.
Submit your abstract NOW! http://www.mechanicsofbiomaterials.com/submit-abstract.asp
Oral and poster abstracts are invited on the following topics and should be submitted using the online abstract submission system by 26 June 2015. For a more detailed list of topics, please check the conference website.

3. Bioinspired Materials
Hi,
I have a model in which I used fasteners to find bolt forces. I created fastener sets and requested output by changing Domain to "Fastener" and selecting the set that contains Fasteners.
The problem now is, I'm not sure which force corresponds to particular bolt.
Options>Common>show Labels for elements only shows element numbers of remaining model but not Fasteners.

The rapid and efficient development of soft active materials requires readily available, compact testing equipment. We propose a desktop-sized, cost-efficient, and open source radial stretching system as an alternative to commercially available biaxial and uniaxial stretching devices. It allows for doubling the diameter of an elastomer membrane while measuring the applied force. Our development enables significant cost reduction (<300 €) and increase the availability of equibiaxial deformation measurements for scientific material analysis.

Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce a mini-symposium on Fracture Mechanics at the 52nd Annual Technical Meeting of the Society of Engineering Science, to be held at the Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, October 26-28, 2015.
School of Mechanics and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University (西南交通大学力学与工程学院) has always paid great attention to the development of its faculty group. We are actively recruiting talents in all fields of mechanics, including (in order of priority) Fluid Mechanics,Dynamics and Control,Solid Mechanics and other related fields.
Requirements:
1. A Ph.D. in Mechanics, Material, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. A good record of publications.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
