equivalent strain

Submitted by far_jod on

Dear reaserchers

Here is my question in developing the eqivalent strain via in-plane stress problems. please let me find your answers.

I did an experimental test on a 6 mm thickness plate. Principal strains (ε1,ε2) was developed from recorded strains via Rosset strain gauges . To develop the equivalent strains I need ε1 , ε2 , ε3  in the following eqation:

dεe=(√2/3)(dε12+dε22+dε32)1/2

The theoretical ultimate magnetoelectric coefficients of magnetoelectric composites by optimization design

Submitted by Bin Liu on

This paper investigates what is the largest magnetoelectric (ME) coefficient of ME composites, and how to realize it. From the standpoint of energy conservation, a theoretical analysis is carried out on an imaginary lever structure consisting of a magnetostrictive phase, a piezoelectric phase, and a rigid lever. This structure is a generalization of various composite layouts for optimization on ME effect.

BOLT ANALYSIS USING ABAQUS

Submitted by albanna on

Dear friends,

Recently my study is focus on bolt analysis on wheel hub assembly.

In simulation using Abaqus, I try to give a certain value of tightening torque on bolt to determine the clamp force.

But, I do not know how to apply the torque value on FE model.

Can we convert torque to became as an axial force?

Or, convert torque to moment?

Finite element analysis of contact pressures entre Human Buttock Tissue and seat cushion

Submitted by BUI on

Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulate with ABAQUS/Explicit for human buttock and seat cushion. I have a problem when I put the mass on Buttock Tissue with 40kg.

How can I put the mass on Buttock tissue in ABAQUS?

Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Suggestion on writing a paper

Submitted by _shyam_shankar on

I am planning to write a paper for ANSYS conference in India.I was working on Static Structural Analysis for the past 1 year.I have experienced various glitches while solving the problem according to the terms and conditions provided, typical convergence behaviour and played with both linear and non linear contacts.
