a littel help with composite analysis with ansys
hello!
i am completely new using ansys for composites. any suggestions regarding 'how to start' and 'what to refer' will be of great help for me.
please anyone help me out with this, i has to do 'fatigue analysis of composite laminate' as the part of my project work.
thanks in advance.

Compiling and Building TAUCS a library of sparse linear solvers
I would like to share the following information to all the iMechanica users interested in using TAUCS a library of sparse linear solvers. TAUCS is among the most used libraries of sparse linear solvers and, to my knowledge, its closest equivalent library is SuperLU. For your reference, TAUCS is used in the commercial software Mathematica by Wolfram Research. Its source code can be downloaded from
Dsflux or Dflux
Hi Every one,
I noticed one thing about specifying surface flux in abaqus/cae. I specify user-defined surface flux in abaqus/cae, but the inp-file writes *DsFlux as seen in the following lines,
** LOADS
**
** Name: Load-1 Type: Surface heat flux
*Dsflux
_PickedSurf28, SNU, 10.
When I submit the Job, I see this error
Error in job Essai: USER SUBROUTINE DFLUX IS MISSING
Job Essai: ABAQUS/Standard aborted due to errors.
surface finish
hello every one
i am a student who is doing a project on surface finish of a turbine blade,
presently the surface roughness is 11.8 microns and i am trying to decrease the surface roughness to 0.1 micron
kindly suggest me the methods to acheive the above mentioned objective
thanking you

Post-doctoral postion in Mechanical Engineering at NUS
I have an opening for a post-doctoral position starting early next year (Jan 2009) in the broad area of multi-scale mechanics of nano-crystalline (nc) materials. The focus will be on microstructure mediated failure processes in nc materials primarily using continuum mechanics based approaches, but informed by materials science.
If you are interested, please send me (shailendra[at]nus[dot]edu[dot]sg) your CV and the names of at least two references.
Thanks,
~Shailendra

polymer material analysis in ansys
hey guys,
i am doing a project on composite polymer materials and i am really in a terrible state with no knowledge about how i am going to analyse polymer materials in ansys. If anybody else has the details or idea please send me the data.
Modeling anisotropic hyperelastic material
Recently I work on Finite Element Modeling of human eye . And focus on cornea .( the outer transparent layer of human eye) . Based on Its structure which consist of collagen fibers I have to use the Anisotopic hyperelastic model . And I derived the coefficients of
strain energy function which divided into three terms of : volumetric, isotropic and anisotropic
