Benchmark: 3D geometrical model established from 3D lattice Green function & lattice Boltzmann method and Blob 3D code

A 3D geometrical model which establish by 3D LG-LB code and Blob 3D is attached.  The results are very interesting!

 

To computing mechnics/physics, if the complex geometrical model can be established definited correcte! so many interesting work can be done to exploring the microstructure deformation_stress process under ULTP.

fellow to work in the area of applied mechanics and materials.

The project is on energy harvesting using soft active materials. This is a joint effort between the Institute of High Performance Computing (A*STAR), and the National
University of Singapore.  The applicant

One funded PhD position will be available in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (SUNY). The position will be available in the Fall, 2014. The research area will focus on using bio-MEMS techniques to create novel cell culture platforms for cell mechanics and mechanobiological studies. Projects may include mechanics involved in the fibrosis diseases, cancer invasion and stem cell differentiation.

SPH inlet & outlet boundary conditions for internal flow (dynamically creating/removing particles from computational domain)

Hi All,

I am trying to model internal flows using SPH in Abaqus. The current problem I am running into are the inlet/outlet boundary conditions. I need a way to be able to monitor the inlet and outlet zones and dynamically remove/create nodes (i.e., particles). Here is the process I have in mind.

Hi everyone,

 

I am currently working on a project which needs mass-spring model. Previously I use MATLAB to implement 1D and 2D system, and I want to model 3D system by ABAQUS now. I am just starting to learn ABAQUS, it seems like there is not much tutorial or example about this kind of model.

How to differentiate between the analysis of a "hollow pile with closed top and an open end" with "vented top and open ended pile".

 

After applying compressive load at both the pile tops (closed and vented), i have obtained/observed that the vented pile is offering higher resistance to penetration as compared to closed top pile.
