One PhD student position is available at Monash University, Sunway Campus in Malaysia with the leadership of Prof A.K Soh.
We expect students with the knowledge and experience in at least two or more of the following skills:
1. nano-/micro-mechanics.
2. computational mechanics.
3. fabrication and characterization of advanced materials, e.g.nano-thin-films, nano-wire arrays, functional materials, etc.
4. strong physics/chemistry knowledge, e.g., quantum mechanics.
Hi,
I am doing an explicit analysis, i am trying to model a woven fabric structure. I have to pre-stress the fabric so i have used this option.
*AMPLITUDE, NAME=name
*SECTION CONTROLS, RAMP INITIAL STRESS=name
Details from INP file
*Membrane Section, controls = SC, elset=FABRIC, material=FABRIC
0.5,
*AMPLITUDE, NAME = RampStress, DEFINITION = Smooth Step, time=total time
0.0, 0.0, 0.0025, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0
*SECTION CONTROLS,NAME=SC, RAMP INITIAL STRESS=RampStress

Please refer to the attached file for detailed information. Thanks!
At Leibniz Universität Hannover, Institute of Structural Analysis, several PhD candidate positions in the field of analysis of composite materials and structures are available (High cycle fatigue of composite materials, Material modelling for clinching, Structural analysis of wind turbine rotor blades with morphing trailing edge (2 positions), Virtual development of nanoparticle-reinforced composite materials).
After many years of teaching elementary mechanics and being unhappy with the high price of existing texts and their tendency to lead students into a game of pattern matching as opposed to thinking about fundamentals, I decided to assemble my lectures into a book. So if you are looking for something different and concise on this topic you may wish to have a look at this book. The book is also well suited for use as a refresher due to its brevity.
Dear Colleagues,
