I would like to share our recent work published in Phys. Rev. Fluids on the statics and dynamics of droplets on lubricated surfaces:

Two fully supported Ph.D. positions are available starting Fall 2022 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama on multiscale modeling of materials and processes. The objective of one project is to model the synthesis of 2D materials to design new processes to improve synthesis efficiency, as well as synthesis by the design of these materials, and to use machine learning algorithms to design materials and their synthesis process. The other is focused on modeling the additive manufacturing processes for in-space manufacturing.
The Zhao Research Group at USC has a postdoc position starting in Summer or Fall 2022 in the area of mechanics and manufacturing of flexible electronic sensors. Candidates with experience in finite element simulation, material characterization, and sensor design and fabrication are encouraged to apply by sending a CV to Dr. Hangbo Zhao (hangbozh [at] usc.edu).
Notched micro-cantilever beam fracture (MCF) experiments are increasingly being used to measure fracture toughness of materials at the micro-scale and draw conclusions about size-effects in them. In our recent paper published in Acta Materialia, 'Size effects and failure regimes in notched micro-cantilever beam fracture', we elucidate the failure regimes in MCF experiments and discuss the conditions for validity of MCF tests.
