May I introduce Zealgang to you?

Hi, everyone.

       It's very nice to find the home for mechanicians and I'd like to make friends with all the persons who enjoy the research in the mechanics of  material.

        My chinese name is Zhigang Yao, and english name is Zealgang Yao. So you can choose any one you'd like to.

Question: ANSYS & Laminate Composite Plate

Hi friends
I want to use ANSYS to find the maximum deflection of a laminate composite plate that is made of graphite epoxy .It has 100 mm width and 500 mm length.
The layup is [45(10),0(10)]  (20 Layers).
The plate is simply supported along all 4 edges and is subjected to a uniformly distributed transverse direction load p=10,000 N/m2.

The material properties of the layers are as below:

Graduate Student or Graduate Employee?

Lately I have been thinking that "Graduate Student" is a misnomer. The correct title should be "Graduate Research Assistant" or "Graduate Engineer".  After more than a year spent in industry, I think that there really is no difference in the work done. Except that the work environment is more flexible in academia.
