The year 2021 marks the centennial of the publication of paper, The Phenomena of Rupture and Flow in Solids, by Griffith. To fracture or to flow, that is the question. The question has been asked and answered in so many ways, which are recounted and celebrated in this Twitter thread:
Applied Mechanics Reviews, the flagship review journal of the ASME, is launching a search for two Associate Editors with expertise in fluid dynamics/turbulence and mechanics of materials, respectively, to join its editorial board. Context
As part of a collaborative project between different industrial partners, research center and Universities, the main objective of the post-doctoral position will be to develop methodologies in the context of stochastic simulations.
