Synopsys will be the 2019 BMES/FDA Frontiers in Medical Devices event to talk about how Simpleware software is used for medical device design and biomedical engineering. We will also be providing a technology showcase seminar to demonstrate how to go from 3D image data to models for different applications.
Applications are invited for PhD positions at the Algorithms in Medicine and Neuro-Technology Lab (AIMAN Lab) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. "Research" The AIMAN Lab pursues fundamental breakthroughs in biomedical cyber-physical systems.
A PostDoc/Research Assistant Professor Position is available immediately on DFT/Phase Field Modeling at the Colorado School of Mines. The applicants should have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or in a relevant field, with a strong background in DFT calculations and phase-field modeling. The project involves simulating structures/phases, kinetics and nano/microstructural evolution in advanced manufacturing.
We have published a paper called "Micromechanical model for prediction of the fatigue limit for unidirectional fibre composites" in Mechanics of Materials. See the link here.
Two PhD positions are available at the University of Southampton (jointly with an industrial partner in Denmark). Both poisitions are in the broad area of structural vibration.

NOSA-ITACA is a software product of the Mechanics of Materials and Structures Laboratory of ISTI-CNR, distributed via the http://www.nosaitaca.it/software/ website.
The package includes SALOME v8.3.0, and is available for Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04.
NOSA-ITACA enables you to conduct both linear and nonlinear static analyses and modal analyses.
NOSA-ITACA can be used to study the static behavior of masonry buildings of historic and architectural interest and model the effectiveness of strengthening operations.
