We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the area of Computational Mechanics. The position is available within the Institute of Structural Mechanics, chair of Computational Mechanics at the Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany. The key research areas of the chair of Computational Mechanics are Multiscale Modeling of Materials and Isogeometric Analysis.

Qualification
The candidate must have a PhD and M.Sc. in one of these disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, Computational Materials Science or Structural Engineering. 

Requirements
We are particularly interested in developing new methods in order to support computational materials design. The Post-Doctoral fellow must have excellent coding skills (Fortran and/or C/C++) as we develop our own software; experience with high performance computing is desirable. It is expected that the Post-Doctoral fellow is willing to work with PhD-students. The Post-Doctoral Fellow must have done his PhD in one (or more) of the following areas:
• Isogeometric Analysis
• Molecular Dynamics
• Multiscale Methods (BDM, BSM, QC, etc.)
• (Extended) Finite Elements
• Error Estimation
The Post-Doctoral Fellow should have completed his PhD before he starts the position. Sufficient English language skills are necessary; German language skills are not required.


Position

It will be possible to do a habilitation. The position is full-time for a period of 2 years; an extension is possible.

Salary

The salary is according to state rules TV-L E13 (http://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/tv-l/ost/). The income depends on the family status and research experience. A Post-Doctoral Fellow who just finished her/his PhD is expected to have a gross-income of around 45,000 Euro per year.
