Choose a channel featured in the header of iMechanica

please help me how to create a model of e-glass epoxy composite material shaft in ansys and how to analyse it? and what is meant by classical lamination theory? and how to obtain the graph.  and alson if u know genetic algorithm help me to write the algorithm.

Finite Deformation: Special Cases

Submitted by Zhigang Suo on

The notes on finite deformation have been divided into two parts: special cases and general theory (node/538). In class I start with special cases, and then sketch the general theory. But the two parts can be read in any order.

Estimate of Burst Strength of Dents in Pipe

Submitted by Kayode J. Ijaola on

Hi all,

I am a master student doing an analysis to estimate the burst strength of dented pipes, I have been able to model the indenter and pipe. I did a non-linear analysis to create the dent but my problem is how to remove the indenter and apply pressure to come about the burst. please how do I achieve this kind of analysis. I would be very grateful to contributors and examples that would help me solve the problem. The model is being done using ANSYS 11.0

My email is ijakay [at] yahoo.com.

Notes on Implicit Update for Bergstrom-Boyce Network B

Submitted by Amit Acharya on

This post is in response to the imechanica request

node/5034

(a separate post, as I have to attach notes - it would be really nice to be able to attach documents to imechanica comments)

Attached are hand-written notes I have used to implement the Network B for the Bergstrom-Boyce model. They were written for my use only, so if it seems stream-of-consciousness at times, don't blame me. The details should all be there, though.

Springback analysis using ANSYS

Submitted by msd.jacob on

I am carrying out spring back analysis using LS-dyna and hyperform. The procedure as follows: forming is carried  using LS-dyna and then the spring back  is included in to the result file using hyperform and .k files are created using hyperform itself. While running the analysis, after certain number of iterations, the analysis aborts with message equilibrium can’t be achieved.  I have included the both the input files (with and without spring back).

Please point out what could be the mistakes inthe input file and advice me for any additional inputs.
