Finit element Analysis of mandible bone with implant

Submitted by king_man on

Hi everyone

i work on a bio mechanic project. i am going to simulate a mandible bone
with implant. at first i want to use Materialise Mimics V10 to convert Ct Scan
data of a mandible without implant to a 3D model. i thought i could edit
the exported file on the other software (Ansys or Abaqus) to add the
implant. but, exported file from mimics can not have any edit .Actually
it has not volume and i need to have a 3D solid model. please help me !

Linear Elastic material behaves as Neo-Hookean in ANSYS?

Submitted by Breslavsky on

I solve the static bending problem for thin plate under uniformly distributed load acting orthogonally to the plate. I

need the solution up to quite large values of deflection (100

thicknesses, which implies the strains about 100%), but I want to take

into account only geometric nonlinearity and not the material

nonlinearity. I use elements which support large strains (SHELL181,

SHELL281). The software is ANSYS Mechanical APDL 12 and 13. Also, I use "Large displacement static" option for

solution.

how to model the damping behavior of viscoelastic passive damper using ANSYS applied to a sandwich beam

Submitted by Alabsi on

 dear all,

How can I model the changing
relationship of shear modulus with frequency for a passive constrained viscoelastic
damper used as part of a composite  sandwich beam which is subject to a walking
excitation using ANSYS ??

Structural analysis of a bullwheel on Ansys

Choose a channel featured in the header of iMechanica

Hi everybody,

I have some problems with the structural analysis of an drive bullwheel on Ansys.

How can I apply the load on the bullwheel groove

Tangential (constant) and normal components

I was thinking to apply the normal load using a prep>loads>define_loads>apply>FUNCTIONS but I'm not good at this option. Is it necessary to define a particular coordinate system?

FEM modelling of braided composites

Submitted by Abhinav Tripathi on

I am doing simulation of fiber reinforced composites, for that I have modelled a cubic REV. However , when I am constraining the opposite faces' node displacement sum to be 0 and coupling the nodes in each face in the direction perpendicular to the area, ANSYS is coming out . I have tried this on i7 processor with 8GB RAM system. I am confused if its a RAM problem or a model problem. If there are too many constraints if I apply coupling as well as constraint???

Grant for master thesis at Bosch: FEM Simulation of Fracture in Electronic Components

Submitted by shirangi on

If you are a master student and would like
to do your master thesis, there is an opportunity to do it at Bosch in
Stuttgart, Germany. The grant will be given for 6 months and can be extended to
6 more months ( 6 months internship plus six months master thesis.)

For more information regarding the grant and
the position please see below job description or contact me.

modeling of a gel using visco elastic properties using ansys

Submitted by lalkrishna on

sir,

i amhe currently doing project using ansys. i have to model the properties of a gel using viscoelastic properties. there are different viscoelastic models in ansys , i dont know which model should use and how we get the parameters for that model.hope a favourable reply
