Job Description
This is a three-year postdoc position looking at the mechanical behaviour of nano and micro-structured interfaces at University of Glasgow. In the broadest sense, the project aims to look at how nano and micro structuring of interfaces can lead to improved designs for frictional interfaces, adhesively bonded interfaces and lubricated contacts.
Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) modelling of hydraulic turbines.
There is a PhD position in the Group of K.E. Aifantis in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department of the University of Florida. The topic is on fabricating nanocomposite materials for Li-ion batteries. Applicants must have a Master's degree and experience on fabrication and characterization techniques. Please email your CV to kaifantis [at] ufl.edu
PhD student will be engaged in a research project of National Science Centre (NCN) carried out in the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research PAS, Poland on 'Intelligent design of 2D nanostructures based on molybdenum'. The materials with a 2D atomic structure (flat, one layer) have drawn attention of researchers for years. The practical applications of graphene sheets, nanotubes can be observed in many areas from electronic industry up to civil engineering (e.g. concrete with nanotubes fillers).
Vacancies exist for high calibre one master, one PhD student and one postdoctoral fellow to join the Innovative Design and Engineering Analysis Laboratory at York University, starting immediately.
The position’s primary area of research will focus on characterization and modelling of elastomers subject to high strain rates
The Institute of Construction and Building Materials (chair Prof. Dr.ir. Eddie Koenders, TU Darmstadt, Germany) is offering to support postdoc researchers with their high-quality application. The postdoctoral fellow should be primarily involved in numerical modeling of building materials. Experimental analyses of the materials (microstructure) characterizations to be used for model validation/calibration purposes could be included as well.
The Multiscale Mechanics and Multiphysics of Materials Lab (http://m4lab.unibs.it) at the School of Engineering at the University of Brescia, Italy announces a PhD fellowship on the subject of Topological Optimization and Additive Manufacturing in the framework of energy production via fuel cells. The fellowship is fully funded by a multinational company and will last three years.
We have a postdoc opening in our fleXLab @ EPFL in the area of fluid-structure interaction at high Re, with a focus on experiments.
