Job Description

Responsibilities: You will closely collaborate with Schlumberger design engineers in US, Europe, and Asia. You will be performing FEA studies in technically challenging areas such as non-linear solid mechanics, metal plasticity, viscoelastic materials, shock, vibration, heat transfer, composites, and fluid/structure interactions. You will also need to present FEA results to various internal or external clients.

Requirements

A few visiting academic positions are now immediately available at School of Civil Engineering, the University of Queensland and School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, RMIT University, Australia. These positions are fully funded by Australian Reserach Council (ARC). The successful applicant will join our research team to work in one of the following areas: 

 (1) mechanics of composite/nanocomposite structures; 

 (2) Multiscale simulation of nanotubes/graphene reinforced composites; 

I am looking for a post-doctoral candidate in the area of computational & theoretical mechanics to work on problems related to hydraulic fracturing. The Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics Group (T-3) at Los Alamos National Laboratory is currently seeking outstanding candidates for a post-doctoral research position in the areas of solid mechanics, constitutive modeling, computational methods, and multi-scale modeling and simulation techniques. The prospective candidate is expected to take part in theory and computational method development for the effective representation of plasticity, damage and failure in solid materials.
