ANSYS CODE FOR FATIGUE CRACK PROPAGATION

Submitted by Amit S. Kulkarni. on

Hi all,

Currently, I am using ANSYS 12.1 for the fatigue crack propagation simulation for the edge crack & center crack plates. It is a mixed mode crack propagation.

Can anybody please tell me or guide me how to write the code in the ANSYS using APDL for automatic remeshing around the cracktip when crack propagates to the new position?

 Thanks in advance. :)

Concrete Smeared Cracking model in Abaqus

Submitted by mahmood seraji on
Hi
I order to model the cement board material, i am going to use "Concrete Smeared Cracking" model available in Abaqus. I think I have to adjust some variables affecting the properties of the concrete to get the numerical load-deformation response close to that of the cement board.
I will be thankful if anyone help me.

Call for Papers: Journal of Solid Mechanics

Submitted by Payam Khazaeinejad on

Dear colleagues,

The Journal of Solid Mechanics (JSM)  invites original research papers and research notes covering a broad area of mechanical engineering activities associated with the classical problems of structural analysis to mechanics of solids, fracture, and heat transfer, thermal effects in solids, optimum design methods, and numerical techniques and recent developments in these areas for review and consideration of possible publication.

Study on electroelastic field concentration around the electrode tip in multilayer ferroelectric actuators

Submitted by Xujun Zhao on

Distribution of electromechanical field near electrode tips is closely related to the reliability of ferroelectric multilayer actuators. In this paper, the deformation and stress concentrations around the electrode tip in two multilayer actuator designs, partially and fully cofired, are investigated by means of experimental measurement and numerical simulations. The digital speckle correlation method (DSCM) is used to measure the full displacement field near the electrode tip with the high spatial resolution.
