extreme environments

A new center at the University of Utah is being formed to lead cross-cutting aerospace materials research.  The center will support the missions of NASA, DOD, DOE, and the local aerospace industry in Utah with applications in structures, radiation shielding, energy storage, and multifunctional materials.  The center is directed by Dr. Mike Kirby and Dr. Jacob Hochhalter.

The Mach Conference showcases the state of the art of multiscale research in materials, with an emphasis on advancing the fundamental science and engineering of materials and structures in extreme environments.

The Journal of Multifunctional Composites is accepting manuscripts for publication in 2013. Please click on the URL below to read more about the journal and its aims and scope. Articles belonging to the first issue will start appearing online in January 2013. Three issues are planned for 2013 (April, July, and October).
