We have published two papers on Ecoflex, a popular silicone polymer in recent days. The polymer is largely temperature- and strain rate-insensitive. It comes up with several Shore Hardnesses. We characterize five Shores and develop a novel Shore-dependent modelling framework

Overview

Dr. Xiaoyu Tang’s group in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University has multiple fully funded Ph.D. positions in the area of Fluid Mechanics and Soft Matter.  Research in the group focuses on multiphase flow, microfluidics, and active matter, using both experimental and numerical techniques. Selected candidates are expected to start in the Spring or Fall of 2021. Under special cases, a Fall 2020 start date may also be arranged. Visiting students/scholars are always welcome.

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver Campus. The positions are described below and involve the use of large-scale ab-initio simulations in combination with machine learning models to accelerate materials discovery. The positions are funded for two-years and available in the modelling and simulation group, lead by Prof. Mauricio Ponga.

You are welcome to join this webinar on implant selection and positioning in Simpleware software. The 15-minute webinar shows some of the recent developments we've made in selecting and positioning CAD implants within computed tomography (CT) image data.

The webinar will look at the case of a CT torso scan to discuss different measurement techniques in Simpleware ScanIP, and how to create orthopedic models for 3D printing, Finite Element Analysis, and CAD.
