Online MS degree in Mechanical Design

Hi,

I am a mechanical engineer and have been in industry for past 12 years.Was trying to find out a good instituition to purue an Online MS degree in Mechanical Design/or any other core mechanical stream.Can anyone help me with this please.

Bending of cables : a stick-slip model

Bending of cables and, for that matter, of any helical strand system (such as overhead electrical conductors) is a challenging solid mechanics problem, with geometry and multibody frictional contact aspects. As seen in several recent papers, one workable approach is based on Coulomb’s laws of friction.  An earlier contribution by Lehanneur (1949), published in French, has generally been  ignored. The attached report presents a translation into English (including a presentation) of this most interesting work.

Saturated Soil Material Property in abaqus

Hello everyone,

I need an urgent help. I have no idea how to define two phase poroelastic soil in abaqus. Water and soil should be treated as two different materials rather than a single material. And how to define the poroelasticity (saturated soil). Can abaqus perform these analysis.

(1) Coupled quasi-static for saturated soil

(2) Coupled dynamic for saturated soil (the UEL/UMAT) -- this is
reported as a UMAT.
Please help me how to sdo these steps and how to define UEL/UMAT
