Humidity Generation for mechanical characterisations

Submitted by Jan Gorgol on

Humidity has huge effects on multiple multiple mechanical properties such as Stiffness, Fatigue, Creep, bonding, adhesion, corrosion , flowability, stress ,strain in areas such as Polymers, concrete, cement, wood, powders, foodstuff,Bio and other materials.see www.genrh.com for further details or applications.Controlling Humidity critically in conjunction with characterisation techniques such as DMA,AFM,Tensile testing, rheology,XRD,Raman,FTIR and microscopy is key in researching areas such as Moisture Induced Phase transitions, Relaxa

residual stress distribution in pipe

Submitted by amir r on

Hi every body

I study the residual stress derived from a circumferential weld on the end of a pipe and degree of freedom in the other end have been taken

but i have a problem in residual stress distribution along axis of pipe.

its known that the axial stress at the end of constrainted end should be zero or little but mine is in order of 100 MPa while residual stress is 300 MPa.

can anybody give me a hint about whats the source of error

thanks

TeX-based equation image generator

Submitted by N. Sukumar on

If you would like to include LaTeX equations in a presentation (Powerpoint, Keynote, or others), and have not found a good solution so far, then you might wan't to consider TeXclip.  It is on the web (no installation needed) and high-quality images of the TeX equations can be incorporated into a presentation rather seamlessly. I have been using TeXPoint so far, but do like the simple usage and the quality of the images that TeXclip generates.

PBC implementation in equilibrium equation

Submitted by xiashengxu on

Hi, guys,

Do some of you know how Periodical Boundary Condition is implemented in equilibrium equation while using FEM:

div{ C:sym[grad(u)] } = 0 ,where the displacement u is periodical.

Is there any (detailed) documentation about this stuff?

Thank you very much!
