Incomplete thoughts on mass flux and superposed RBM

Attached are some (hand-written) observations on wanting to do continuum mechanics when mass is not conserved for fixed sets of particles of the body (so, situations transcending the rocket-losing-mass type). I feel (un)comfortable with these observations, depending upon the day I think about such things.

Strain Rate Calculation in CEL

Hi!

I am trying to calculate the strain rate in Coupled Eulerian Analysis Using ABAQUS. I want to Calculate it through Plastic strain as strain rate in vuhard is not working properly. I want to fix the strain in state variable for a time period but with analysis, it is updated automatically. Is there any options to keep strain fixed for a time period?

 Any idea will be highly appreciated.

Stress Softening in UMAT

Hi all,

I am implementing the constitutive behaviour of CuAlNi shape memory alloy during uniaxial loading using UMAT. My question is that:

Stress decreases during phase transformation in our model but I can't do this in UMAT. When stress is needed to decrease, abaqus job stops and there is no change in the command window. I wonder that is there anything which I can do when stress starts to decrease in UMAT? It can be in input file or subroutine file.

LINKING FORTRAN AND C++ WITH ABAQUS

Dear all

I realized so many users have problems in
linking Fortran and C++ to  ABAQUS to run user-subroutine codes such as
VUMAT and UMAT. I managed to collect all information (some taken from imechnica) which
is necessary to establish a  proper link. These are my recommended steps :

1-Install ABAQUS

2-Install Microsoft Visual STUDIO (trial
version is good enough!) and install Intel Visual Fortran Compiler if it is not included in the Visual Studio package.

 

 

shell and solid modelling

hi 

i modeled a beam to column connection.

when i modeled this connection with solid,the analyses completed wethout error but it doesnt give the ur. when modeled with shell,show this message:too many attempt...

sometimes with larger mesh or decreas of load, the analyses are completed.but when i retry,thr analys is aborted and this message  is shown. 

there are these questions in my mind:

-if i model the connection whit solid,can i take the rotation(ur)?how?

- how can i run this shell model without error?
