Session on "Multi-scale Modeling of Graphene- and Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Composites"
I will organize a session on "Multi-scale Modeling of Graphene- and Carbon Nanotube-reinforced Composites" in International Conference on Mechanics of Nano, Micro and Macro Composite Structures (http://paginas.fe.up.pt/~icnmmcs/welcome.html) together with Prof. Silvest. You are invited to submit a paper.
Determining Graphene Adhesion via Substrate-regulated Morphology of Graphene
Understanding the adhesion between graphene and other materials is crucial for achieving more reliable graphene-based applications in electronic devices and nanocomposites. The ultra-thin profile of graphene, however, poses significant challenge to direct measurement of its adhesion property using conventional approaches. We show that there is a strong correlation between the morphology of graphene on a compliant substrate with patterned surface and the graphene-substrate adhesion.
How to track material flow when ALE adaptive meshing is used?
Hello everyone,
Multiple Faculty Positions in Mechanical Science and Engineering at UIUC
The Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign is seeking candidates for multiple faculty positions. We especially seek candidates at the junior level whose primary interests are experimental in nature. The research areas of interest include energy systems, manufacturing and materials processing, experimental solid mechanics, and bio/MEMS fabrication and design. One of the open positions may be at the senior level, as part of a strategic excellence hiring program that focuses on energy and sustainability.
Call for Abstracts: Metal Forming Symposium, within ESMC 2012 Conference (Graz, Austria, 9 - 13 July, 2012)
Dear Colleague,
Fellowships and Ph.D. position available: Analysis and modeling of the mechanical behavior of 3D nanoparticles superstructures
Colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) form a family of highly advanced building blocks suitable for large scale assembly of novel high-complexity 1D-to-3D superstructures. Their properties and inter-particle interactions, nowadays, can be highly controlled by tailoring their size, shape, composition and surface functionalization.
vfric subtourine
i am working on the fully coupled analysis of segmented chip formation in machining but the general friction model does not give the right result.so i want to use vfric subroutine, can any body help me writing the code.
plz help
