I was trying to find the brillouin zone of a GaAs superlattice and their points of symmetry to use it in determing the bandstructure. I am using the [111] as the z direction and the structure is periodic in the x and y direction but none periodic in the z direction. I am still looking for my way in this field and i couldnt find a good textbook that explain this, especially how to find the symmetry points of a crystal whether it is in bulk stucture or superlattice. So i really would appreciate any help or guidance in this problem.

i am using Abaqus/Standard to simulate the contact of a ball with a flat. Up to this point the simulation is no problem and gives good results compared to the herzian theory. But within my bachelor thesis i have to add a coat (with layers) to the flat (Thickness: 0.004 mm) and analyse the influence of the coat material to the stresses. My idea is to create a skin on the plate and a shell composite section. Then i assign the skin to this section. In the field output i defined the section points to get the stresses over the thickness of the shell.
I am doing analysis of crack in pipeline as part of my masters degree. So kindly suggest me what are the procedures i have to proceed for the same.

I am using ABAQUS to perform the nonlinear buckling study of composites right now, I am also trying to use Virtual Crack Closure Technique(VCCT) to study the strain energy release rate. However,here I have some questions regarding to obtain the nodal force and nodal displacement.
1. Could anyone give me some ideas how to obtain nodal force in Abaqus?
