Dear colleagues,
We would like to invite you to attend mini-symposium 327: Mechanics of Polymeric Gels. The 19th U.S. National Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will be held in Austin, Texas, June 19–24, 2022 (www.usnctam2022.org/).
Our symposium welcomes experimental, theoretical, and computational talks that discuss mechanics of polymeric gels (see https://www.usnctam2022.org/MS_327 )
Please note that the deadline for abstracts is December 18, 2022.
Synopsys are running a webcast with Dr. Daniel Wiznia of the Yale School of Medicine this November 2nd - it will cover how Simpleware software is used for personalized treatments being developed using different 3D clinical image analysis techniques, including 3D printing.

Dear Colleagues,
The deadline for abstract submission to the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM) International Congress & Exposition on Experimental and Applied Mechanics (June 13–16, 2022 | Pittsburgh, PA, USA) is October 18th. Please note that this is already the extended deadline. The call for papers is attached. You can submit your abstracts here.
I have a fully funded PhD position starting in Fall 2022 at Columbia University for a new project on geometric learning for solids undergoing high-strain-rate loadings. More information can be found at our research group website www.poromechanics.org. More information can be at our research group website www.poromechanics.org. General information about admissions and applications can be found at.
Over the last years, UGent-MMS has developed the stand-alone BladeMesher software for generating finite element models of large wind turbine blades. The software reads in the material data and airfoil data of the wind turbine blade, and automatically constructs the geometry and finite element mesh for the blade. In a next step, the nodal and element information of the finite element mesh is written out to an input file for a commercial finite element solver (Abaqus in this case).
The Computational Physics Group at the University of Michigan has an opening for a
postdoctoral researcher in data-driven multiscale modeling. This position can be available as
early as January 1, 2021. Research in the Computational Physics Group is focused on
developing data-driven, machine learning and some artificial intelligence approaches that
interact with a range of computational methods for problems in materials physics, biophysics
and in engineering more broadly.
We have an open PhD position starting in the Fall semester 2022 at the Computational Laboratory for the Mechanics of Interfaces at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (https://www.researchgate.net/lab/Timothy-J-Truster-Lab-2 and http://clmi.utk.edu). Current potential research topics in the group are: bone densification and fracturing, composite panel defect detection, and contact modeling of soft materials.
