My company urgently needs to identify an individual or organization who can
fabricate a couple of hundred small Dielectric Elastomer transducers for an
R&D project. The work could be done under contract. We have
started making our own but it is becoming clear there is a learning curve plus
much trial and error and we are short on time.
If you think you might be able to make them or if you can suggest
Applicants are invited to apply for a tenure track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the Associate Professor level in computational science and engineering at Northwestern University. Higher level appointments will be considered under special qualifications. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong skills in leadership and a commitment to collaboration and teaching in the graduate and undergraduate programs of the McCormick School of Engineering.
Hello Everyone,
Im relatively new to Abaqus and I have to carry out a bifurcation analysis of a pipe. Once that is done I need to add the imperfection wavelength and amplitude calculated to the pipe and carry out further simulations.
Ive been trying very hard to get a direction as to where to start with it. Can anyone please help me with it? I know that you need to carry out a buckle analysis that will give you a wrinkle pattern on the pipe. This inturn will add up to the bifurcation scheme that you get.
Please, give a look to my research activity at http://www.ing.unitn.it/~bigoni and to my group at http://ssmg.unitn.it
If you are strongly motivated to work with a very active group in Solid Mechanics, we have a PhD position (3 years) available from January 2014, but the deadline for application is September 15, 2013!
The position is on a EU grant and is addressed to numerical/theoretical modelling of ceramics.
HELLO.
I WANT TO KNW THE UNIVS OFFERING MASTERS IN INDUSTRIAL ENGG IN US

I tried to perform a cohesive zone analyse in ANSYS, followed the turorial in HELP file. I used contact element to model cohesive zone. and I find out that:
1, if I use standard material of ansys to define bulk element, like defined by 'MP,EX,1,2.1e5 MP,PRXY,1,0.33 ' or 'tb,biso', I can get a reasonable contact result;
2, if I use usermat file to define bulk element, 'tb,user', then the solusion also is done, but the resulte seems not correct. two part of model not contact each other but some sections of them are coincide.
I received this letter from Prof Davide Bigoni
Marie Curie PhD position at University of Trento (Italy): deadline September 15
It is a top opportunity in Italy, the leading group in Italy in elasticity, plasticity and nonlinear elasticity. A very active university and town.
I expect many applications.

I guess the problem is that I need to include the offset nodes but I don't know the code to incluide it. I'll appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance
Generally
diesel engine uses only the heat of compressed air to ignite the fuel as it is
injected into combustion chamber. But in low temperatures the colder air will
make it a bit harder to start the engine than hot air and it can overcome by installing
spark plugs which are essentially very small, but powerful heaters in the
combustion chamber.i want to discuss about the general working of diesel
engine in low temperatures and the changes should be made to work more
efficiently.
