Inability to set SECTION=ELBOW for elbow elements in Abaqus/ CAE 6.11-3
Hello everybody,
Hello everybody,
Applications are invited for two
postdoctoral research associate positions for
a project funded by the Boeing Co., USA, which is being executed jointly by the
Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry Departments of Indian Institute of
Technology Kanpur. The project involves performing extensive large scale
ab-initio and Molecular Dynamic computations on certain high performance polymers
with a view to understanding their mechanical properties. The research groups
involved in the project have excellent computational facilities for carrying
out these computations. Moreover, both groups have extensive research
Hi,
I am trying to create a material model in Abaqus such that I have a varying yield strength through the depth (y-coordinate). I want a model which has maximum yield strength at the top surface and gradually goes on decreasing with y-coordinate. Is there a way to do this? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Deepak Patil

Hi everyone,
I am trying to solve a problema of heat transfer in which
there is an inner heat generation (Q). I know that Abaqus has a subroutine
called HETVAL in which this procedure is very easy to implement, but for other
porpuses later on I need to do using a UEL subroutine.
Dear All,
I was wondering if someone experienced could reply me. I've already
analyzed a model and extracted the nodal stress tensors. Now the aim is
identifying the external model nodes and its corresponding stress
tensors and then re-apply them as a new Boundary Condition. Firstly, it
seems that I need to multiply these stress tensors (which vary node by
node) by a normal vector resulting traction vectors. But, here is the
question, how should I define these traction vectors on external nodes

Hi all Metal cutting experts...
I have done done 2D finite element metal cutting simulation and validated with experimental force value. as we know.. from 2D FEM simulation, we can get only force data, stress-strain, temperature and somehow chip morphology. Can anyone kindly tell me how will this 2D simulation help me to link with surface roughness of the machined surface.
I will be very gratefull to you all....
thanks in advance...
regards...
