non linear analysis of a cylinder

Hi...

I am working on post buckling of a cylinder in ANSYS. I have included imperfections using NLGEOM command. I applied a load which is slightly higher than eigen value buckling analysis and i am using displacement controlled analysis using arc length method. I am getting the following error after certain time

"solution not converged

Arc length value has reached its minimum allowed value

Run terminated"

Can anyone please help me how to resolve this issue.....

define path for contact elements in ANSYS

i solved a model with cohesive zone and conta172 in ANSYS, but i can't define path along the adhesive between two material.i want to list gap distance between adhesive and other parts of joint along a specific path.

anybody can help me?

Hi All,

I would like to apply the below:

1) Apply a prescribed displacements to a cantilver beam

2) Save the deformed configuration

3) Apply the loads on the deformed configuration

4) calculate the final deflections

How to do it in ANSYS or the best way to do it
